The Space
Located on the "first floor" of Xanadu II, Xanadu Sands is elevated well above grade so you'll have great views of the pool, the beach and the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. The unit's southeast orientation provides the perfect venue for peaceful sunrises over the ocean and offers some much needed shade from the hot afternoon sun. The wrap-around balcony is, to the best of our knowledge, the largest oceanfront condo balcony in all of Cherry Grove. At 225 sq-ft it's like having another living room!
You will really enjoy the comfy all new furniture in this bright living room. The 55" HDTV has standard cable and free Showtime. There's a fireplace and even a Sonos sound system to which you can cast your music!
You will love the newly remodeled eat-in kitchen. It's a great place for gathering with friends and family while cooking or enjoying a meal. The coffee maker features both drip and Keurig brewing methods. The cabinets are stocked with all the stemware, dishware, utensils, pots and pans you could need to prepare a gourmet meal.
The primary bedroom is a bright, airy space located on the southeast corner of the building. It offers fabulous ocean views from both the wide picture window and the 8' sliding door that opens to the balcony. The room has a king bed, walk-in closet, dedicated work desk and a 43" Samsung Frame TV with standard cable and free Showtime. The en suite bath has double vanities and walk-in shower with rain head.
Lots of light enters the second bedroom as well through the 8' sliding door that opens to the balcony. This is one of the things that makes Xanadu Sands so special. Most two bedroom oceanfront condos have the primary bedroom overlooking the beach but the second bedroom is typically a dark space overlooking a parking lot. In two years of searching this is the only unit we found that offers oceanfront views and balcony access from both bedrooms! The second bedroom has a king sized bed and a 43" Samsung Frame TV with standard cable and free Showtime. This bedroom connects to a full bath that can also be accessed from the hallway. If you prefer we can have housekeeping set up the second bedroom as two twin beds but this must be requested in advance and a nominal fee may apply.
The Third "Bedroom" is actually a very small (~50 sq-ft) Bunk Room intended for up to two kids who are no more than 10 years old. This is a spaceship themed room that any kid would enjoy. We built it for our grandkids and they love it! For an extra charge we can even provide you with spacesuits like the ones you see our little ones wearing. To be clear this is a VERY SMALL room!! It has only the built-in bunk beds...there is no closet or dresser (although there is under bed storage for clothes) and no TV or window. Linens are provided but it's up to you to make up the beds.
This condo is over 1200 sq-ft. That's much larger than most three bedroom units on the Strand. Pro tip: you know all those narrow "shotgun" style condo listings you see in two or three story low rise buildings? You know the ones with the tiny balconies? Those are "modular" buildings which means the units were built in a factory and assembled on site. Basically you are staying in a double-wide, placed next to and stacked on top of or underneath someone else's double wide. Xanadu II is a concrete mid-rise building with much wider rooms and huge balconies that just aren't possible with wood construction. What this means is you will be comfortable no matter where you choose to spend your time while vacationing, be it in the expansive living room, the large bedrooms or the oversized kitchen. There's even a laundry room with full size washer and dryer (not a cramped closet with a tiny stacked one piece laundry unit). Even the water heater is full size, so no running out of hot water when everyone showers after coming in from the beach.
Guests have access to the sparkling pool that gets daily maintenance by our staff. The pool is situated to bask in morning sunlight but offers afternoon shade...which can be quite refreshing after a long day on the beach!
As our guest you will have access to your private locked beach closet where we generally keep 4-6 beach chairs and two umbrellas, as well as assorted beach toys. We also provide beach towels for your use.
